What is PSEC?
The Puget Sound Engineering Council (PSEC) is an organization of the local chapters of national or international engineering and scientific societies in the Puget Sound area and was founded in 1945. PSEC coordinates and communicates among its member societies while fostering member society interests.
How does PSEC work?
- Local engineering & technical societies join PSEC and pay annual dues.
- Each member society elects one representative and an alternate to attend the PSEC board meetings to discuss and vote on the behalf of the society.
- PSEC then elects a President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer from the elected representatives.
- PSEC board meetings held on the first Monday of every month; anyone is welcome to attend!
- PSEC information send out to the PSEC rep distribution list.
Goals
- Inform the public on technical matters
- Advance the interests of the member societies it represents as well as those of the larger engineering and scientific community
- Reflect the technical concerns of these societies and of this community
