ASMI: Luis – meetings are being planned for mid-October and November..
WSPE: John -no current plans
ASME: Sam – will be reaching out to other organizations for joint meeting possibilities
ASCE: no current plans.
SME: Andrew – no current plans
SAE: George – new volunteer for student activities chair
IEEE: Dave – no plans due to scheduling issues due to leadership health concerns
SWE: LeSi – Seattle Storm game. Also interested in collaborating with other professional groups. Expressed interest in organizing a public policy event to increase awareness of engineering related legislation in Washington state. Many other activities on Website
SWE: Kelsi – SWE had a booth at the Tacoma Dome Health and Safety Fair event. Well received.
ASHRAE: Emily – Georgetown Steam plant Science Fair. Decarbonization conference in Renton
SAMPE: Tiffany – Seattle Space Week one main event @ UW. Tour of Advanced Composites 13 October

General
Treasurers Report: – Dave
Checkbook balance is $12000 due to no banquet.
Engineering Fair: – Kelsi
Kelsi has contacted PacSci and they are very much interested in securing our participation in the science fair next year. Our group preferred the 27 Feb 2027 date. PacScI will most likely remove the background check costs. Kelsi will follow up with more details on background check process as well as number of booths available.
Mentor nights
Luis has ongoing speaking engagements at several colleges. No firm mentoring events have been scheduled
Other Business
* Andrew to create and send out a quick survey asking questions about awards banquet format as well as the interest in an ISOW in November (need to check Husky football schedule). Andrew, Luis, Dave, George and others who volunteer
* Andrew to follow up with Project Management Institute and share contact info with LeSi
* Luis to contact the August 2027 Tacoma Dome event for details so that we can better plan
* Dave will send out Zoom meeting invites PSEC board meetings through January
* Kelsi to firm up Engineering Fair date with PacSi and confirm background check rqmts
* Emily offered to connect LeSi with ASHRAE’s government affairs committee for potential collaboration.
* All to help recruit new PSEC president
