SAMPE: Tiffany, working on a student event for March, SAMPE event at the end of
April 27-30, hosting Seattle Public Schools event as well.
WSPE: John, nothing planned for March, Fair was great experience, most were
younger students, 5 Junior High or High School
ASME: Sam Gheesling, Kenworth tour did not go, going to reschedule, April 3rd Tour at
Microsoft (and online), moving meetings to the UW?
ASCE: Rom just came back from ASCE at Reno, 200+ members attended, February
had Seattle U panel, One at UW, Pathways for Engineers. March 14th will
be Popsicle Bridge Competition at Museum of Flight, March 26th Joint Dinner
Meeting for Geo and general section. April 10-11 UW hosting concrete canoes,
August 20th Seattle Section Awards Dinner at Sorrento

SAE – George, section had a great meeting speaker for February 17th Virtual Meeting
, Phil Stevens Director at PACCAR Technical Center, battery for semi-trucks
INCOSE – Paul, March INCOSE Seattle Metro Chapter (SMC) General
Membership Meeting will be held in-person and virtually on Wednesday,
March 11, 2026 at 6:00 PM (PST). Our featured speaker is Dr. Dallas Rosson,
PhD, PMP, CSEP, an accomplished systems engineer, computer scientist, and
project manager with over 20 years of Department of Defense software
development experience IEEE: Dave Butcher, next Tuesday on March 10th at
Seattle U

Went really well, much younger age group, may want to taylor, Science Center was very responsive
This year we are partnered with PacSci on 2/22, all day 10-5 Kickoff for national engineers week
We had 6 booths, and 8 organizations signed up (ASCE and SWE were a joint table, ASME, SAE had a SAE Baja car
ASCE and SWE shared a booth Background check takes 1-2 weeks – we should start background checks early.
No more than 3-4 volunteers per booth

Mentor nights
Planned Feb 12 at Highline College – group of regulars, 60 or so Students, 7-8 mentors,
pictures posted on Linked In
Planned Feb 26 at WSU Everett campus – only second time, 5-6 mentors very low only
15 mentees, juniors and senior students
Rachel Brown, Seattle U joined up, looking at Capstones, 60 projects up 100%, looking
for project sponsors, needed mechanical engineers and electrical engineering,
June 5th is project Day, starts October to June, cost is $20k-$30k,
