Other Mentorship Asks:

Dear Tiffany,

We need your help, and the help of your colleagues in the PNW SWE.  We are working to inspire the “Next Generation of Scientists and Engineers”, and need your help to positively influence the future. We would also like to ask you to share this opportunity with the SWE members in the Pacific Northwest.

Over 300 STEM students from 30 high schools in the area will be presenting their STEM projects at the Central Sound Regional Science and Engineering Fair on March 8, 2025, at Mountlake Terrace High School.  We are inviting engineering professionals to join us for the day as Judges for these talented STEM students. Your presence, expertise and enthusiasm will help inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists.

What’s Involved:

One full day of Judging at Mountlake Terrace High School, 8-2pm.

Listen to about 10 of the five-minute student presentations.

    Ask insightful questions.

Provide constructive feedback to the students.

With the other judges, score the projects based on established criteria

Particular Areas of need: Behavior and social sciences, Computational biology and informatics,

Mechanical engineering, Environmental engineering, Robotics and Intelligent Machines,

             Systems software.

Why Volunteer?

Inspire and encourage young minds: Help shape the future of STEM.

Network with professionals: connect with other experts in your field.

Give back to the community: support local education and young people.

Experience the future: Witness firsthand the impressive work of developing scientists and

                 engineers.

And… we need 150+ Technical Judges for this day to go smoothly.

To Volunteer:

Please sign up online at:  https://centralsoundfair.stemwizard.com/public_site/judge_register

If you have any questions, contact us at:  info@centralsoundfair.org

You will find this day of judging the student projects to be truly enjoyable, and you will be inspired by the enthusiasm and talent of these STEM students.  Help us encourage them to pursue futures in the world of STEM.  We hope you will consider participating, and that you will help us share this with all the members of the ASCE in the PNW SWE!

If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Craig DeVine
